Laitan Agbeja is the Founder and Project Director of New Initiative for Schools Empowerment and Development. He is an alumnus of both universities of Ibadan and Ilorin where he obtained Bachelor’s degree in Sociology (Bsc) and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) respectively. He is a member of different professional bodies such as Nigeria Institute of Bankers, Nigeria Institute of Management and Nigeria Institute of Personnel Management. Laitan is a trained banker and an entrepreneur.

Experience

He started his banking career in Societe Generale Bank Nig Limited (SGBN) in 1990. He was in the employ of the bank for 10 years during which he worked at the Head Office and other branches as an Officer, Unit Head and Business Development Manager. He later joined Standard Trust Bank Limited (now UBA) where he worked in both the Public Sector and Commercial Banking Division as Profit Centre Manager and Group Head. He is the pioneer Managing Director of SLS Microfinance Bank Limited and currently the Chairman of its Board of Directors. As an entrepreneur, he also has his hands in real estate and outsourcing. In the course of his banking career, he has attended a number of manpower development programmes organized by prominent consulting firms in Nigeria such as Lagos Business School, Phillips Consulting, H. Pierson Associates Ltd, Agusto & Company Ltd, KPMG Consultants and Nigeria Institute of Management
